Join us for this celebration of art and music through the works of Frederick Gill - Artist and Musician (1906-1974). In addition to the works displayed, the exhibition will include his collection of rare and one of a kind jazz albums.
Most of Gill's paintings were influenced by his love of jazz. He believed in harmony and improvisation in both his art and his music. He moved to the rhythm of various personal styles and believed that by experimenting he could involve both basic structure and extemporaneous abstract creation to his paintings. Gill wrote, "Abstract art to me is the real reality, containing elements of pure beauty (space, line, color, texture, etc.) to be found in nature when not contaminated with the human race."
